Heal from Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Series 2

Are you ready to heal? Then hang in there, you can do it!

Chronic fatigue (CFS) and fibromyalgia (FMS) are illnesses that can result from a number of contributing factors, such as, dietary, environmental toxins, genetic predisposition, burning your candle at both ends, and unrelieved stress. Whatever path you’ve taken to arrive at where you are, you have undoubtedly run yourself into the ground. And now, your body, mind, and spirit have said enough, and are forcing you to STOP!

I urge you to please listen to your higher self. CFS and FMS are all about learning or relearning how to nurture your body, mind, and spirit. You can recover completely. I know that this is a fact, given that I’ve done it myself!

I healed myself when I was suffering from a lot more than just chronic fatigue (CFS) and fibromyalgia (FMS). I was suffering from a rare autoimmune illness called mixed connective tissue disorder. In addition to the CFS and FMS, I had scleroderma, Raynaud’s syndrome, random nerve pain, loss of digestive motility, trigeminal neuralgia, difficulty swallowing, insomnia, and panic attacks. I was a real mess. My journey took ten years and I recovered using natural and holistic methods. Despite the fact that Western medical doctors told me there was no hope for a cure. Fortunately, for me, I ignored them. Actually, I fired them! Now, I feel great, I’ve got my life back, and I want to help others do the same. This blog is part 2 of a Series I’m doing on techniques to help you recover from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.

This week’s goal: Making the commitment to nurture yourself!

If you have CFS or FM, you know you can only push yourself so far. Then, you hit a wall. In fact, sometimes, you don’t just hit it; it comes crashing down on you. This is happening for a reason. Your body, mind, and spirit are forcing you to stop your current modus operandi and rethink things. It is critical to start nurturing yourself.

You must first remove the telephone pole from your own eye, before you can remove the splinter from someone else’s eye!

It is imperative that you nurture yourself. STOP what you have been doing and create a new approach that includes pouring your healing energy into yourself. The better you feel, the better your loved ones will feel also.

It is interesting to note, as I have worked with many chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia clients, that they generally tend to be the nurturing, healing type of person for everyone else, except themselves. Is that you? Then, you need to direct your own healing energy into yourself even more than most! It takes work to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. And, now is the time to take a vacation from all that and heal. Your loved ones are happiest when you are well.

Your Wellness Assignment: Create Your Sacred Healing Space

The wellness assignment for this week is to create a sacred healing space in your home, just for you. It should be in a room where you can close the door and not be disturbed. It doesn’t have to take up the entire room, it can be carved out of a corner, but you want to be able to close the door to keep out disturbances. I want you to make a comfortable spot to sit, in a chair, on a floor cushion, whatever is most comfortable for you. Then, I want you to find some soothing music that speaks to your soul, music that calms you, fills your heart with peace, and resonates with who you are. I want you to find other items to put into your sacred healing space that speak to you of healing and love. You can add candles, crystals, healing images, special happy mementos, anything that evokes a pleasant, safe, nurtured, feeling within you.

In your sacred space, allow your tension to simply fall away!

When you step into your sacred healing space, you should feel tension falling away; it is your own private healing hideaway. When you are in there, request that others give you privacy and don’t disturb you. Once you’ve created your private healing space, spend at least one 30 minute relaxation session a day. Play your music and zone out in your own private sacred healing space. Visualize yourself as completely well and feeling great, breathe deeply and bring in the healing vibration. In future blogs, I will introduce guided meditation and energy healing exercises that you can use in your healing program.

Ok, that is your holistic healing assignment for this week. In the next blog of this series, we will build on using your healing space to do some holistic wellness techniques.
