Having a Hard Day? Series 2

Some days are harder than others.

You’re having a hard day today and you’re searching for some relief. Maybe you’re in a lot of pain emotionally, physically, or spiritually – as I’m writing this – I’m visualizing sending you a hug. So many times, when I was desperately ill, I could really have used one. I don’t know you, but I do care and I believe the positive energy will reach you.

Sometimes, on hard days, that inner negative voice – that drones on and on about all the suffering you’re enduring – just won’t shut up. I actually got sick of hearing myself think. I felt stuck and I looked for anything to snap me out of it. Enough was enough, already! I just wanted a tiny escape from myself. These are moments when you can, actually, do just that.

How? You might ask.

When it’s too much to think about how to help yourself, well then – don’t. Think about helping someone else. There is always someone who can use a helping hand. Perhaps, there’s someone you know who can use a kind thought – “You’re amazing at that…”, a bit of encouragement – “I’m with you. You’re doing great…”, a hug, or something that is within your power to provide. You can call, email, text, visit, or simply think about them – visualizing them being helped.

Do something for someone else.

It feels really good to direct our energy outward, for a change, to show a simple kindness to someone.  Now, I’m not talking about commiserating in some kind of mutual, co-dependent pain-fest. I’m talking about a spontaneous expression of positive energy directed toward another person – someone you love, a friend, an acquaintance, or even a stranger. You shift your focus to something other than what is going on for you and you create and send positive energy for someone else’s benefit.

This tiny selfless act of love moves us into the highest vibration, which is exactly where our own and all healing best occurs. So, you’ve not only helped another person feel better, you’ve also managed to shift yourself into a healing vibration at the same time. Helping others in any way, no matter how small a thing might seem to us, brings great rewards to all involved. The more you can allow yourself to connect with the gift of helping others and being of service, the more you practice the art of healing.

Give it a try and see what happens!

There are many holistic alternatives to help you move towards health and wellness. Diet and medicinal foods are powerful, Qigong, movement and breathwork, acupressure, and much more. There are also many helpful herbal formulas that may be appropriate to help you, such as, Calm or Calm ES for stress and anxiety, and often a formula like Adrenal+ for burn out and fatigue.
